DEPARTMNT Access Tokens: Wearable Tech
DEPARTMNT Access Tokens can take form in the following ways; Adapted (PROOF, 2022)
001's Access Tokens - both the physical and digital versions - are ‘wearable’ - either by the real, physical you or the digital ‘you’ (your avatar). In addition to this, some Access Tokens may come with VR/AR augmentation.
Physically, the way the Access Tokens work is the glasses employ the inbuilt DAC to activate the DEPARTMNT dashboard via your smart device or encrypted chip reading devices located at specific IRL events around the world. Once that device is activated, an electronic circuit is closed and a physical lock will open.
Digitally, the Access Token accesses online benefits digitally when you either wear your DEPARTMNT glasses in collaborative environments or simply connect your wallet containing the digital Access Token to DEPARTMNT’s Dashboard and other collaborating platforms, to verify ownership and subsequently open up digital experiences there.
It is worth noting, not all - but a significant portion of - the Access Tokens that DEPARTMNT will be dropping in the future will be wearable as accessories or clothing - either digitally, physically, augmented or both. These will also be designed in such a way that they are modular or combinable.
Building a collection of different Access Tokens and/or combining them greatly increases your chances of benefits from The DEPARTMNT experience. It’s up to you and the community to work out how to most effectively use or combine Access Tokens to maximise the benefit to you.
