MINT 001: Process
In Q2 2023, DEPARTMNT will hold our genesis eyewear collection of 2000 Access Tokens.
The moment a physical Access Token is redeemed, an on-chain transaction will be made adjusting the digital assets’ metadata to identify it as an Access Token that has been physically redeemed; a small marker dot will also appear on the digital Access Token’s placeholder image of the animation. These marker dots will make it easy for secondary buyers to identify which Access Tokens have been physically redeemed or not.
A week before launch day, whitelisted participants, raffle winners and waitlisted individuals will confirm their intention to participate in the Mint 001 event.
After minting, a date will be announced when collectors may redeem the Physical Access Token (*the eyewear counterpart). When ‘redemption day’ comes around, a portal will open on the DEPARTMNT Dashboard, directing holders to a special section of the DEPARTMNT store.
To redeem a physical Access Token, digital Access Token holders will connect the holding wallet to the DEPARTMNT Dashboard where they will be prompted to input a delivery address and verify their choice to redeem the glasses. They will then wait approximately 3 months from the date of redemption for their product to be assembled specifically for them and shipped for delivery.
In the weeks preceding launch day, individuals will receive access to Mint 001 via one of our whitelist mechanisms or entry into the public raffle.
