DEPARTMNT Access Tokens: Utility
The DEPARTMNT experience contains all of the elements of a game that users would be familiar with - players, entertaining activities, risk, and reward. However, unlike most games (which are intended to be fully immersive) DEPARTMNT experience is intended to be engaging and fun regardless of your degree of participation. Ultimately, the purpose is not to create a traditional video game or gamified DEFI. It simply transforms transactions from something mundane and ordinary to something exciting and intriguing.
You = The Player

In-game currency = PRIVs
An Access Token provides a baseline level of XP a player starts with. A more exclusive Access Token delivers the player with a higher baseline level of XP.
For example, an Access Token with a total supply of 100, likely with a higher attached cost, could give you a baseline level of 8 XP. Whereas an Access Token with a total supply of 2000 could give you a baseline level of 4 XP.
Players are not stuck at the baseline level of XP that their Access Token provides. Points (commonly referred to as XP/experience points in games) can be accrued on the Access Token by using it in the DEPARTMNT experience, similar to how a player would gain experience points in a video game.
As you level up, you unlock a more exclusive variety of DEPARTMNT experiences and rewards.
PRIVs, the in-game currency, are also accumulated through participation in the DEPARTMNT experience. PRIVs can be spent in the store, to purchase ‘in-game items', or real-world swag.
Our 001 Access Tokens - particularly our physical Access Tokens - offer a range of utilities in both the physical and digital environments.
Core Utility
All DEPARTMNT Access Tokens come with core utility. Firstly, in the form of the DEPARTMNT membership ranking said Access Token enables you to access, and the experiences it unlocks via the DEPARTMNT access chip as you participate in each mint cycle. In addition to this, each Access Token will have intrinsic utility simply by the nature of the product.
Digital Utility
The Digital Access Token for 001 is represented by a uniquely created digital animation asset.
Ownership of the digital asset enables holders to download digital files from their DEPARTMNT Dashboard. This digital eyewear design can be uploaded to use/wear in compatible environments and selected avatar builders*.
Disclaimer: our assets are provided as GLB/FBX files, interoperability of environments is dependent on future partnerships and integration tools.
Holders will receive Full Property rights* to that eyewear design asset, which you may reproduce, change or do with as you wish. This will be released to holders after a specific period and will be bound by the terms and conditions to be released at a later date.
The digital assets animation also potentially contains clues that may provide participants with a more extensive value from the DEPARTMNT Experience.
Physical Utility
The physical Access Token for 001 is a handcrafted eyewear piece that is unique and has genuine intrinsic value.

Physical Access Tokens act as real-world Access Tokens opening up events in the DEPARTMNT experience. The embedded DEPARTMNT access chip (DAC) can also be used to access and manage all the digital Access Tokens you possess as well as unlock experiences.
Remember, your Access Token may have an obvious IRL utility (like a pair of glasses that you can wear) - but we encourage holders to look beyond the obvious utility of the product - as DEPARTMNT is using staking incentives and IoT tech to expand utility in subtle but extensive ways to create extended value and experiences.
